My Review of Ghoster by Jason Arnopp

My Review of Ghoster by Jason Arnopp:

I expected something different from Ghoster by Jason Arnopp and I certainly got it, it's unique and very enjoyable.

Ghoster a hyperbolic warning to us all about the dangers of allowing our obsession with smart phones to dominate our lives and the shocking denouement delivering a message we should all take heed of. At its heart though it's also a love story for the modern age and I was particularly moved by the insecurities that Tinder et al creates for the protagonist Kate (and for Scott too). This 21st popular method of dating brings its own particular angst with its swipe left and the feeling of being ignored which Arnopp exploits to its fullest in Ghoster. The use of text messages and an online diary in the narrative are both unusual and effective, perfectly fitting with the moral of the story.

Oh and just to make sure that we thoroughly enjoy the ride there's a healthy slathering of the supernatural too!

Thanks to Tracy Fenton for the gifted copy of this book.
