My Review of The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner Audio Book

The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner is an accomplished debut novel that promises much for future works.

I settled back and relaxed listening to the dulcet tones of Richard Armitage and was immediately transported back to Chawton, Hampshire both after World War One and predominately World War Two. It's a deightful listen with a great ensemble cast of engaging characters, none of whom were stereotypes. My particular favourite was Alan, he's a deep thinker who has always put the needs of others before himself. Linking all the characters, not surprisingly, is a love of all things Austen and the frequent references and allusions are a delight for any Austen fan like me.

Village life is a wonder to behold with everyone thinking they know everyone's business, and to a certain extent they do, but they do not know what is in each other's thoughts and hearts in the way we are fortunate enough to discover.

Thanks to Kate Moreton of Orion Publishing for inviting me on this tour.
